Sharing some of my latest posts about topics that are close to my heart from my blog on TOI.

July 15, 2024 – Bridging the Gap between Communities is the latest post about the efforts of two individuals Emmanuel Acho and Noa Tishby who recently teamed up to co-author a new book: Uncomfortable Conversations with a Jew. Acho asks the questions to Tishby – together this dynamic duo tackle important issues particulary in today’s climate of increasing antisemitism.

June 30, 2024 – When I wrote my blog post The Silence of the Good I was inspired by a conversation between Dr. Clarence Jones and Robert Kraft. They recall the days of Dr. Martin Luther King, the March on Washington during the Civil Right Era and how the Jewish and Black communities marched hand-in-hand together. With today’s civil discourse getting more violent there is much wisdom we can all learn from these community leaders to improve the current social climate.

May 19, 2024 – “In 2019, Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots, founded the Foundation to Combat Antisemitism (FCAC). FCAC uses powerful, positive messaging and partnerships to motivate Jews and non-Jews to battle all hate.” The message is universal. Robert Kraft – Leading the Fight Against Antisemitism

March 5, 2024 – Baynard Rustin – Hero of Soviet Jewry – had a deep appreciation for Israel and its underlying values of justice and democracy. Rustin stated clearly:
“I want Soviet Jews to make their own decision where they wish to go. Israel is the oasis of democracy in the Mid-East, and if they feel they wish to live there, it should be their right to do so.”

January 31, 2024 – MLK, Baynard Rustin, and the Jewish People “I was named after Bayard Rustin, an African-American civil rights leader who deserves a larger role in American history books…Growing up as Charles Rustin Holzer (aka Rusty), meant that my childhood was filled with lessons from the greats of the Civil Rights Movement.”
